Delays and additional costs due to severe weather Vancouver
Last week, the Vancouver region experienced landslides, heavy rainfall and flooding. On the West Coast, as much rainfall fell in twenty-four hours as is normal in a month.
Access roads were consequently impassable or destroyed by landslides. All rail connections were halted and seaports closed.
Most services will resume this week, but the backlogs will likely continue for weeks or months. The congestion that was already bad is only likely to get much worse.
The current situation not only causes delays, but also additional costs which we unfortunately have to charge to our customers. For questions or more information, please contact our North America specialist Roderik.
