Dubai goes green
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to cycle through Dubai? Soon this will be possible! Dubai will invest in the infrastructure by launching more than 500 miles of bicycle lanes in order to reduce pollution.
Vice-President and Prime Minister Sheik, Mohammed bin Rashid, has approved the project. The construction of the bicycle paths will start in 2018 and is planned to be completed by 2021.
Not only are bicycle lanes being built to make Dubai a greener city, but the project also includes pedestrian paths, five new metro stations and bus lanes. This will reduce traffic jams and encourage people to leave their car.
Dubai is investing in the construction of parks as well. These projects coincide with phase 3 of the Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum Solar Park construction. This will lead to 800MW of solar capacity added to the current solar park.
