The African route of choices
Central Corridor Africa, also known as ‘The Route of Choices’, is one of the largest projects focusing on the development of the infrastructural connections in Central Africa.
The Central Corridor transit Transport Facilitation Agency (TTFA) is a multilateral agency established on September 2nd, 2006, formed by an agreement of five governments of the Republic of Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the republic of Rwanda, the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Uganda. The TTFA was formed to connect the landlocked developing countries in Central Africa with the eastern coast.
The investment in new infrastructures between Burundi, DRC, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania will increase exchanges within the region. TTFA encourages the investment of upgrading airports, development facilities at ports and the expansion of the road network. Currently, there are three main routes via North, Central and South corridor. Other routes are yet under construction.
