Jordex visited Khalifa Port
Last week we visited the Khalifa Port with our agency network, the Europe Asia Alliance (EAA), during our annual meeting in Abu Dhabi. Khalifa Port is one of the most modern ports in the world and belongs to the top 5 most productive facilities between Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Currently, the United Arab Emirates, are dealing with 33 million teu on an annual basis from which more than half is intended for transhipment. Since the opening of Khalifa Port in 2012, they have doubled their activities.
Looking at the 2030 vision of Abu Dhabi, where diversification of the economy plays an important role, Khalifa Port contributes to the diversification of the economy by facilitating import, export and transhipments of various commodities.
During the visit, the entire EAA got an explanation on how the semiautomatic port operates, a tour around the terminal and a visit to one of the biggest warehouses of Abu Dhabi.
